Ollie makes no exception to the aforementioned cliché of landscape and seascape photographers lured to the Cornish Coast, and has spent many a warm, spring afternoon trekking along the spectacular coastal paths, in awe of the beauty of the county’s coastline and never-ending photographic opportunities.
More recently, he has turned his knowledge of the coastline to help pinpoint the best places for stargazing and landscape astrophotography. Some of these locations were put into use with the media in September 2017, as Ollie worked with Nphoto on location in Cornwall for three days shooting a live, night sky photography workshop featured in May 2018 NPhoto issue 84, and Bookazine 1941 “Teach Yourself Astrophotography”.
The group is capped to four people, ensuring each participant can work closely with Ollie.
The May 2019 Cornwall Nightscape & Landscape Photography Workshop is a combi-workshop, and will allow you to take in some of the best locations in the south west of Cornwall, and on the beautiful Lizard and south western Penwith (Pennwydh) Peninsulas, whilst also developing your nightscape and landscape photographic skills.
Digital processing advice and tuition will also be offered in the early afternoon (optional). We journey to location to catch the late afternoon light, sunset, twilight, and night Milky Way astrophotography, also learning how to shoot lighthouses at night at Pendeen, (see Ollie’s lighthouse portfolio here) or book the course here.
Accommodation will be situated within the beautiful “Rainbows End House & Cottage ”, two private, very large and spacey modern houses with an outdoor heated swimming pool and bordered by the National Trust Godolphin Estate which Ollie uses regularly and knows the owners. All participants have their own private room, most en-suite.
A full list of what to bring to the workshop is issued to the group and via group emails, and also discussed upon booking, please contact Ollie for further information.
