Landscape Photography Tuition

This workshop includes traditional landscape photography shoots and tuition.

Nightscape Photography Tuition

This workshop includes innovative night sky photography planning, shoots and tuition; Northern Lights planning, hunting and shooting is also included.

The Iceland workshop is open to photographers at all levels, although previous landscape photography experience is highly advantageous (please contact Ollie to discuss where you are with your photography).

First of all learn, or develop, existing skills whilst visiting the breathtaking landscapes Iceland has to offer;  Iceland boasts some of the most unique and consequently diverse landscapes on planet Earth. Therefore, there will be plenty of opportunity to photograph these landscapes under sunsets, sunrises, and quite probably dramatic skies and weather along the way.

Iceland Circular Photography Workshop taking in the south, south east, East Fjords, and the spectacular waterfalls of Northern Iceland as well as the Snaefellsnes Peninsula.

Furthermore, hunt the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) and capture the magic under expert guidance with a landscape and nightscape photographer that has notched up 108 days in Iceland within winter working both commissions and leading tours out into its majestic though often harsh and unforgiving landscape.  Capturing Aurora alongside other phenomena such as Lunar Rainbows and Polar stratospheric cloud (Mother of Pearl).

The main objective of this photographic tour will be to maximise chances of viewing and capturing the Northern Lights whilst driving round the entire country, as opposed to typically only seeing the west, south, and south east. Although there is an itinerary for this workshop, it will be subject to amendment due to revolving around clear skies, mapped out to the weather during the photography tour.

Landscape locations could include, but are not indicative of, Reykjanes Peninsula, Skogafoss, Svínafellsjökull Glacier, Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and Iceberg Beach, Hofn, Eystrahorn, Skútafoss, Snaefellsnes Peninsula (Mount Kirkjufell & Kirkjufellsfoss Waterfall, Gatklettur, Hellnar and wild beaches of the north) Godafoss, Selfoss, Detifoss, Aldyjarfoss, Arctic Henge, Hvitserkur;  exact locations will also be determined by the weather as a whole, as it is possible for Route 1 (Iceland’s main road circling the country) to be closed off at various sections in the winter.

Although the trip will include late nights stargazing, by no means will the amazing Icelandic scenery and November light be overlooked in the day, as a result, locations selected will capitalise on Iceland’s beauty by both day and night, on this photographic Iceland adventure.

Finally, especially relevant is the group size, capped at five, thus as a result of the small number of participants, valuable one to one and group tuition can be delivered far more effectively, ultimately ensuring everyone not only has a great trip, but in addition, learns new skills.

High-quality 4×4 vehicles are used for this workshop, which runs over nine nights and seven days; please see gallery below for a mix of professional landscapes, and group workshop shots.
