Ollie has lived in Greece, and also travelled the country extensively, and is therefore very pleased to offer this photography tour taking in some of the most photogenic and historical sites of ancient Greece.

The Meteora photography tour will start with a pick up from Athens airport, proceeding to Delphi, then travel to Meteora, stopping for a shoot toward the stunning Oros Giona mountain, before crossing the plains of Thessaly.

Shoot the famous monasteries by both day and night, also explore hidden paths and the lesser known monasteries.  Then travel to the Pindus Mountains visiting Zagori and the deepest gorge in the world, Vikos, and round the trip off with a visit to famous Corinth.

Day 1 – Pick up from Athens Airport and toward Meteora.

Day 2 – Introduction to Meteora landscapes.

Day 3 – Classic Meteora views, sunrise, sunset, and nightscape.

Day 4 – Hidden Meteora views,  monastery  visit, sunset and nightscapes, 3 days on location allows photographers to get the most out of the area and changing conditions.

Day 5 – Travel to the unspoiled area of Zagori, and stay in traditional mountain villages within the Pindus Mountain area of beautiful Epirus, shoot ancient stone bridges, and viewpoints of Vikos; visit the mystical ‘Stone Forest’ for a night shoot.

Day 6 – Viewpoints north of the spectacular Vikos Gorge, and Papingo Rock Pools & twilight moonlight photography.

Day 7 – A long journey as we travel to the ancient site of Delphi, stopping to shoot images of the Oros Giona mountain, ending the day in one of Delphi’s excellent traditional Greek tavernas.

Day 8 – Travel to Athens and shoot the acropolis at sunset, with a pit stop en-route at Thermopylae and ‘The Hot Gates’ (Battle of 300 ancient site) before a final group meal on one of Athens roof top terraces with views over the city.

Day 9 – Athens Airport transfer.

Autumn is an excellent time to visit mainland Greece, temperatures around the north in the mid to lower-20’s, the weather is generally sunny but can be a little changeable at times, providing drama to the landscape scenery; furthermore, the terrain is becoming bathed within its autumn coat.

The tour is laid-back, in similar fashion to the Santorini Tour, but with a few days incorporating substantial travelling due to remote locations.

The photographic aspect to the workshop will help you take better travel photos, traditional professional landscape photography (not over-edited, or shooting to replace skies, natural photography), and also learn, or advance, your night photography, and shoot the Milky Way.

The trip accommodation comprises of high end hotels, some with sauna, pools, gym etc, and naturally an element of downtime.

All Ollie’s workshops operate with small groups, and maximum of 5 participants to ensure a dedicated level of photographic tuition and guidance.

Breakfast is included within the price, but not daytime and evening meals in order to give you control over your own food budget; excellent, traditional restaurants are visited most nights for authentic group meals/refreshments and beverages.

Prices are based on single person occupancy, and sharing a room with either a double or single beds can be booked with discount (contact Ollie for further information).

Assistance can be provided with onward travel in Greece.
