CORNWALL Photography Workshops FAQs
Cornwall Astrophotography Workshops were one of Ollie’s original workshops being drafted up in 2012 alongside Dorset (also England) and parts of the Scottish Highlands. They were amongst the first astrophotography workshops ever advertised in Europe (alongside Ollie’s other astrophotography workshops). There isn’t a significant nightscape location Ollie has not photographed in Cornwall, knowing the county like the back of his hand, and currently residing there on his short stints back home in the UK. Read more about the tutor and workshops here.
The Cornwall Astrophotography workshop predominantly works on nightscape photography techniques, though the group undertakes golden hour, sunset, and blue hour shoots. The group will learn a structured beginner to intermediate astrophotography workflow to include layer blending, stacking, and essential nightscape planning.
EU, EEA, and Swiss nationals can stay in England and the wider UK for up to six months without a visa, Irish citizens have complete freedom of movement within the UK, and many other countries can travel on an easy to obtain tourist visitor visa.
Cornwall workshops run on different months, predominantly May or September, days are mild, and nights can be mild to cold.

Only light fitness is required for the Cornwall Photo Tour, though the days can be long and there may be up to five/six hours on your feet with the camera equipment for long astrophotography shoots. Some coast path walks are around 30 minutes, uneven, and can have 20/40 metre gradual inclines.
The Cornwall Photo Tour is self-catered with the group collecting their own supplies en route unless a lift/transfer has been arranged prior with Ollie. The group also uses local eateries on occasion.
CORNWALL Photography TOUR ACCOMMODATION
The accommodation used for Cornwall Astrophotography Workshops has changed several times over the years and is currently a large house, tucked away on one of the most spectacular peninsulas and newly established dark sky area, Penwith Peninsula.
Accommodation
The Cornwall Photo Tour accommodation is located near the beautiful Sennen Cove consisting of six bedrooms and three bathrooms, two sitting rooms with log burners and streaming available on the TVs. Fully loaded kitchen and huge dining room for post-production sessions.

Cornish Landscape
Cornwall is famed for its coastal ruggedness, picturesque coastal villages and towns and azure coves and beaches. It boasts some of the most beautiful seascape locations in Europe which also double up as great astrophotography locations. Trails are usually well kept, slightly loose underfoot and can have large inclines and declines as the coast path follows the high cliffs. Be prepared to walk on sandy and shingle beaches.
