Nacreous Clouds
Nacreous clouds, or Polar stratospheric clouds, are clouds seen in the winter polar stratosphere at certain altitudes and best observed during civil twilight, after sunset and before sunrise.
Illuminated from below, these clouds can often be seen glowing in vivid colours and have an effect known as iridescence.
