The Witches Hat Iceland

Kirkjufell Mountain, winter in northern Iceland

Known as the Witches Hat and also Church Mountain, Kirkjufell is probably the most photographed mountain in Iceland, its iconic peak being instantly recognisable.

On the coastal of Snæfellsnes Peninsula and a short distance from the town of Grundarfjörður, Kirkjufell is a magnificent place to visit for both amateur and professional photographers, not just for the mountain itself, but also for Kirkjufellsfoss Waterfall (Church Mountain Waterfall) which at 463 meters high, is quite impressive.
