Description
Temple of Apollo, Naxos
Naxos Temple of Apollo 1.
The Moon looks as though it is about to try to pass through the pillars at the door of the Temple of Apollo.
Built in the 6th century, on the western side of the island of Naxos, but never completed. The only remains left today are the entrance to the temple, Portara (meaning big door Greek) and traces of the temple’s foundations.
