Dorset Night Photography

The Milky Way shot over Dorset’s Opium Poppy Field.

Swathes of the lilac Papaver somniferum (Opium Poppy) in a field in Dorset.

The poppies are grown by a local MP for both morphine and codeine production for the NHS, and is one of over 30 sites in the UK where the Home Office has granted a licence to grow the Opium Poppy.
