Skagsanden Beach

Night photography in the Lofoten Islands in winter.

Lofoten has many small but beautiful beaches, and Skagsanden is just one of them. It is well known for the dark patterns in the sand made by rivulets flowing across it to the ocean.

As well as the odd surfer or two, braving the iciness of the Norwegian Ocean, this beach is becoming more popular with photographers chasing the Aurora.
