Description
The Arctic Henge in Raufarhöfn, Iceland, is a modern monument inspired by Norse mythology and the natural light of the Arctic Circle. Designed as a massive sundial, it features towering stone arches aligned with the cardinal directions, and is populated with 68 dwarf statues representing different times of the year. The structure is designed to interact with sunlight, casting shadows and refracting light in ways that reflect the mythological and natural elements of the region. Still under construction, the Arctic Henge serves as both an artistic and spiritual site, celebrating Icelandic heritage and the unique Arctic environment.
