Diamond Beach Iceland

Cool blue ice on the black sands of Diamond Beach, south Iceland.

Also known as Breiðamerkursandur, Diamond Beach gets its name from the sparkling ice shards and orbs scattered in the sand, which are as clear and sparkling as diamonds.

This is also a great place from where you can see Icelandic seals, and if you want to see Orca whales, this is one of the best places in Iceland to do so.

Not far from here is the spectacular Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon.
