Shadow of Teide

The highest peak in Spain, Mount Teide has a very unusual feature. As the sun rises, or sets, the mountain casts a pyramid-shaped shadow over the Atlantic Ocean, the largest shadow projected on the ocean in the world.

The pyramid grows as the giant shadow of Teide slowly engulfs the landscape and the island of Tenerife.

The Shadow of Mount Teide is best viewed from the summit or surrounding trails.
