Description
Tater-du Lighthouse Milky Way Cornwall
Tater-du Lighthouse, seen here under the Milky Way, is in St Buryan, near Penzance, Cornwall.
Built in 1963 after a shipping tragedy at nearby Boscawen Point, the lighthouse gets its name Tater Du comes from the Cornish language ‘torthel du’ meaning ‘black loaf’, and possibly refers to the fact that it stands on dark granite cliffs.
