The Northern Lights shine brightly over Dunnet Head Lighthouse in Scotland. 

Situated on the far northern tip of Caithness, Dunnet Head Lighthouse is a perfect place to see the Northern Lights, and from where, if the weather is favourable, there are spectacular views across to the Orkneys.

Standing at a height of 66 feet, Dunnet Head Lighthouse is a 19th century lighthouse standing on the 300-foot cliff top of Easter Head, on Dunnet Head, the most northern point of the British mainland. It was built in 1831 by Robert Stevenson, grandfather of Robert Louis Stevenson, and although automated now, was fully manned until 1989.

Puffins can be seen, and photographed from various viewing points along the cliffs in spring and early summer.
